Hospital continues to bleed money
Palo Verde Hospital's overall cash position has declined over the past three fiscal years by more than $7 million, says a financial and operational assessment performed by HFS Consultants, current managers of the hospital.
On-call pay cuts still leave doctors with above average pay
The Palo Verde Hospital Medical Staff, which oversees medical care of the 25-bed hospital, recently offered to take a 20 percent cut off members' on-call pay, which, with directorship titles that averaged $3,000 a month, totaled to more than $3 million in pay to eight doctors.
