If you're looking for motivation to take your body to the next physical level, The King of the Gym Men's Physique and Queen of the Gym Women's Bikini competition is scheduled for Aug 24 at the Palo Verde College Fine and Performing Arts Center on One College Drive in Blythe. The competitions are a fundraiser for the College Fine and Performing Arts Center. There will be a $300 first place prize, a $200 second place prize and $100 third place prize for both the men's and women's competitions. The event is part of a partnership with the Palo Verde College SCE grant, which was donated by Southern California Edison. There will also be guest posing by National Physique Committee (NPC) competitor Tori Poole as well as by figure poser Velda Poole.

All of the proceeds will go towards this year's fireworks show at the fairgrounds put on by the fire department. The tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
